Sara Fromm is a sustainability scientist (M.Sc. Environmental Studies and Sustainability Sciene) and has been involved in the climate justice and degrowth movement for several years. She is a member of the academic association "Research & Degrowth" and researched the potential of the degrowth movement as an agent of change for the social-ecological transformation using the example of Barcelona. In her almost two years as a consultant for sustainable development projects at an international consulting firm, she got to know the viewpoints of corporations and institutions of development cooperation and utilizes them for her critical reflections. As a freelance speaker, workshop facilitator and author, she has been working for several years on topics such as climate justice, socio-ecological transformation, degrowth, social movements as well as gender and sexual health.

The panel discusses recent mobilizations for democracy and socio-ecological justice, their strategies, ideas, challenges, and connections. We hear about different perspectives – in particular, the climate justice and degrowth movements in Europe, the anticapitalist and feminist mobilization in Chile, and the Arab Spring and women’s uprising in Sudan – and explore the possible alliances in these struggles.
